Many exhibitors struggle to figure out the best way to display product in their trade show booth. Should it be real product, a scale model, or a graphic animation? Do you need to show every option, color or feature—or just highlight a few favorite configurations? Should it be enclosed in a case or right along the aisle for everyone to touch? Should it be mounted at table height, eye-level, or mounted overhead? Sample boards with a variety of options or individual samples of every selection?
GAF found its answer the easy way—by asking customers. North America's largest manufacturer of commercial and residential roofing products posed this important question to architects and contractors. "When you look at roofing solutions, how do you prefer to view the materials?" they asked. The verdict that came in drove the design of a series of new Shingle Display Kiosks for GAF's exhibit. While the resulting chalet-like structures may look a little odd, they fulfill everything that GAF customers asked for:
- A single product is displayed on each side of each kiosk. This enables customers to envision what the product will look like installed over a large area.
- Shingles are mounted from waist height to about 11-foot in the air and the displays are tilted at a maximum pitch—which mimics roof conditions and places samples at eye-level for close inspection. It also allows booth visitors to touch-and-feel the products at their discretion.
